United Nations Global Compact
GDF SUEZ status: GDF SUEZ has been a member of the Global Compact since 2000.
Gérard Mestrallet, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GDF SUEZ, is the President of the French network of the Global Compact.
GDF SUEZ involvement: the Group is committed to respecting the 10 principles of the Global Compact. GDF SUEZ publishes an annual report “Communication on Progress” which presents the actions taken as part of this commitment.
WBCSD
(World Business Council for Sustainable Development)
Status: member.
Involvement: GDF SUEZ co-chairs the “Urban Infrastructure Initiative” working group.
The Group participates in the following “Focus Areas: Development, Energy & Climate, etc.”
GDF SUEZ has been an active member of the “Energy Efficiency in Buildings” project.
EITI
(Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative)
Status: member.
Involvement: the Group has committed to annually publish payment information relating to the member countries of the EITI in which it conducts Exploration-Production operations.
CSR Europe
(Corporate Social Responsability Europe)
Status: GDF SUEZ is a founding member of CSR Europe.
Involvement: the Group sponsors the European project “Enterprise 2000” alongside the European Commission.
The Group chairs a working group on "new business models for the bottom of the pyramid” and on jobs for seniors.
The Group participated in developing a CRS toolbox .
ORSE
(Observatory on Corporate Social Responsibility - a branch of CSR EUROPE France)
Status: member.
Involvement: the Group participates in:
- The “Sustainable procurement” working group
- The working group producing the CSR Europe/ORSE Guide on proactive commitment between companies and stakeholders.
Comité 21
Status: member of the Board of Directors.
Involvement: the Group participates in the working groups Agendas 21 and local authorities, sustainable marketing, education in sustainable development.
EPE
(Entreprise pour l’environnement – branch of the WBCSD in France)
Status: member.
Involvement: the Group was one of the sponsors of the “Biodiversity and Business” conference in October 2010.
FONDDRI
(Foundation for Sustainable Development and International Relations)
Status: Françoise Guichard, Sustainable Development Director, is its Vice President.
Involvement: the Group participates in the “Climate” and “Biodiversity” clubs, among others.

Status: member of the ISO 26000 AFNOR mirror group.
Involvement: partner in the launch of ISO 26000 in France in December 2010.

Status: Gérard Mestrallet chairs the IMS.
Involvement: the Group is a partner in the Research-Action program run by the IMS “BoP (Base of the Pyramid) Innovating for the Base of the Pyramid".
Emmaüs France
Status: partner three years running.
Involvement: the Group is committed to combating marginalization and drives the following actions, among others the energy audits, the recovery of various materials and buildings, the gifting of vehicles, etc.
