The environmental services activities are joined within the subsidiary SUEZ Environnement, which is 35.4% owned by GDF SUEZ. Broad expertise in its areas of activity
The business areas of SUEZ Environnement cover the entire water value chain:
- studies, information system strategic plans, modelling of the underground resources, project management,
- engineering, design and construction of water treatment plants,
- operation and delegation of services: collection, treatment and distribution of drinking water, maintenance of networks, collection and treatment of municipal and industrial waste water, process water, recovery of purification sludges.
In the field of waste, SUEZ Environnement handles:
- the collection of waste of any sort (excluding radioactive waste) and urban sanitation,
- sorting and pretreatment of waste,
- recycling and material, biological and waste-to-energy recovery of reusable waste and elimination by incineration or burial for residual waste.
Although 80% of the activities are concentrated in Europe, SUEZ Environnement is present on five continents and particularly in Hong Kong, Perth, Jakarta, Casablanca, Algiers, Barcelona, etc.
