From design to installation to operation, GDF SUEZ, through its Energy Services business line, offers to its customers — local governments and businesses in the industrial and tertiary sectors — energy-efficient and environmental solutions through multi technical services. The Energy Services business line has 77,000 employees and had a turnover of €13.5 billion in 2010.

 

 

 

Activities that cover the entire energy-services value chain

 

The Energy Services business line offers consulting services for the design and construction of electrical, nuclear, gas and industrial facilities and implements solutions to optimize the energy performance of industrial processes.

 

It is recognized the world over for the management of the urban heating and cooling networks and for all facilities management services additional to supplying energy to industrial and tertiary customers.

 

The business line has a presence in four primary markets:

 

  • the public tertiary sector: communal housing, public buildings, hospitals, university campuses…
  • the private tertiary sector: offices and business centers, shopping centers, private housing….
  • industry: petroleum, paper, chemicals, electricity production, steelmaking…
  • infrastructure: the business line does installation and maintenance work for electricity and gas networks, ports and airports, and public lighting networks.

Subsidiaries of the GDF SUEZ Energy Services business line won many major contracts in 2008, including the contract for construction and 40-year operation of the network that will supply heating and cooling to Olympic Park, the site of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, as well as the new development zone in the city of Stratford.

No. 1 in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Italy, the Energy Services business line has a strong position in countries including the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and Austria; it has a base for further growth in countries including Portugal and Greece, as well as in central Europe.
