Since January 1, 2012, the Energy International business line of GDF SUEZ is composed of International Power plc. International Power plc is a global leader in independent power generation with operations in 30 countries and more than 10,700 employees around the world.

International Power plc is a global leader in independent power generation with more than 70,000 MW capacity in operation and a significant portfolio of projects under development. International Power also has interests in related businesses such as LNG terminals, gas distribution, retail sales and desalination.

Its merger with the GDF SUEZ Group took place in February 2011.

  • LNG import and regasification,
  • power and gas sales and trading,
  • energy services for industrial, commercial and institutional customers and distribution companies.

The Group relies on its 40 years’ experience to strengthen its leading positions in target markets with high growth potential. It is the world leader in managing large infrastructures projects (hydroelectric dams in Brazil, electric power plants and a desalination plant in the Middle East, etc.).
