Selection Process

The GDF SUEZ Foundation studies closely the requests for support it receives and selects projects that are in keeping with its values and fields of activity. Project selection involves four stages.

Stage 1: Presentation of your project via a support request application pack

Children singingYou can present you project GDF SUEZ Foundation via a downloadable support request application pack.

Once the application pack has been downloaded and completed with a detailed and exhaustive description of the project, the application pack is to be returned to the GDF SUEZ Foundation:

  • Either by email to the following address: fondation@gdfsuez.com
  • Or by post:
    Fondation GDF SUEZ
    1 rue d’Astorg
    75008 Paris

Stage 2: Review of the application pack by the program manager

When an application pack is received at the Foundation, it is assigned to a program manager according to the field of action of your project (support to childhood, social, environmental, etc.).

The program manager is in charge of your application throughout the entire process.

  • He or she reviews its compatibility in relation to the GDF SUEZ Foundation and decides whether to present it to the Selection Committee or to the Board of Directors.
  • If the project is not selected, the manager contacts you to inform you of that decision.
  • If the project is selected, the program manager subsequently becomes your dedicated contact person; they will listen to you and provide you with advice you may need. They will also monitor the first actions undertaken and assess the results.

Stage 3: Analysis of applications by the Selection Committee

Applications short-listed by the program manager are sent to the Selection Committee or to the Board of Directors.

The Selection Committee is appointed by the Board of Directors; its members are from the various Group departments. The Committee meets several times per year and its role is to:

  • Review and approve the projects selected by the program managers (applications for less than €150,000 per year),
  • Analyze the responses to the competitions and calls for projects launched by the Foundation,
  • Decide on the amount of aid granted.

The Board of Directors meets once per year. It reviews the applications for financial support exceeding €150,000 per year.

Stage 4: Final response by the Foundation

Once the Selection Committee or the Board of Directors of the Foundation had made a final decision:

  • If your project is not selected, the program manager will notify you,
  • If your project is selected, the GDF SUEZ Foundation will sign a partnership agreement with your organization. The project will be monitored and supported by Foundation.
