The success of the GDF SUEZ business plan is based on the dedication and commitment of its employees. As part of its patronage policy,
GDF SUEZ strives to exercise its social responsibility through partnerships that enable the Group’s employees to become involved alongside the Group. There are several forms of involvement, all resulting from the richness of the Group’s partnerships.
The employee associations supported by the Group carry out humanitarian assignments all over the world – another way volunteer employees can demonstrate a commitment to solidarity.
In the course of 2011, meetings will be organized in France and Belgium with the non-profit organizations supported by the Group. These will be occasions when information and ideas will be exchanged and employees will have an opportunity to actually make a concrete commitment if they so wish.
| Collaborateurs Solidaires: a website to put volunteer employees and Group partners in touch with one another. | |
| Intended for employees, GDF SUEZ retirees, and their families, the purpose of the Collaborateurs Solidaires (Employees Showing Solidarity) website is to make it easy for them to become involved with the Group’s partners, by putting them in touch with one another. Initially, it is offering short, medium and long-term volunteer opportunities in France and Belgium. Other forms of involvement are also possible and available to all Group employees, wherever they work.

These projects consist of installing local power generating sets to supply dispensaries, schools, orphanages, setting up mini-power distribution grids, connecting isolated populations to the grid etc.
Solidarity with Haiti - GDF SUEZ and its employees mobilized for Haiti
In the very first few hours after the earthquake struck in Haiti, GDF SUEZ sprang into action to offer disaster relief on site by providing first aid equipment and experts. Today, the Group’s employee associations are still working in Haiti providing their expertise to set up the equipment needed to bring drinking water and energy back on stream and build temporary shelters.
La "Course du Cœur" is an employee initiative that has been encouraged by the Group’s Foundation for over ten years. The aim of this sporting event with a humanitarian purpose is to make people aware of organ donation and organ transplants.
