To precisely measure the progress it has made in sustainable development, GDF SUEZ tracks this progress using a key indicator system. Another area with continuous improvement is the Group’s involvement with major think tank-type groups at home and abroad where it can trade experiences and results.

GDF SUEZ is implementing an ambitious sustainable development project of its own volition across the entire Group. To assess its impact, a structured reporting method has been adopted, based on an overall tool that conforms to GRI recommendations.

Reporting method

To ensure transparency and reliability of publicly disclosed data, GDF SUEZ has begun a verification process with its auditors on the quality of the indicators for environmental and social information that is published. The auditors have assigned a “reasonable level of assurance” to seven major indicators (a level of reliability that is equivalent to the ones used for financial data)

Main indicators

GDF SUEZ enriches its approach by comparing it to various other points of view. The Group shares its expertise and benefits from the feedback from other companies within the think tank and partnership groups.
