The Group is developing its infrastructures to keep pace with the newly configured European natural gas markets and intends to invest 1.5 to 2 billion Euros a year over the next ten years in the initiative.
From the place energy is produced to distribution over networks, energy is routed via transmission and transport infrastructures.
When the gas production site is isolated or too far removed from the place it will be consumed to allow for gas pipeline transport, natural gas is moved in the form of liquefied natural gas (LNG). A crucial link in supplying natural gas, LNG requires special facilities.
A major player in gas storage, GDF SUEZ manages infrastructures in France and in Europe.
To route energy to the point where it will be used, the distribution network, open to all suppliers, is the last link the gas supply chain.
