GDF SUEZ is the 2nd leading operator of LNG terminals in Europe.
By enabling all suppliers of natural gas to regasify their Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), the GDF SUEZ's LNG terminals contribute to the diversification and security of natural gas supplies in Europe.
The Group operates 2 LNG terminals in France:
A third gas terminal is due to be commissioned in 2009:
This third terminal will enable the Group to double its LNG unloading and processing capacity in the Mediterranean.
Fluxys, in which GDF SUEZ holds a 45% stake, owns and operates the Zeebrugge LNG terminal (9 Gm3/year in 2008).
The LNG business is of strategic importance to GDF SUEZ. To support it, the regasification capacity of the Group’s LNG terminals in France and in Belgium will continue to be increased; between 2004 and 2009, it will have risen from 20 Gm3 to more than 32 Gm3.

LNG terminals are industrial facilities where natural gas is received, unloaded, stored in reservoirs and regasified prior to being injected into the transmission network.
