Thanks to the diversity of its natural gas supply sources and the quality of its relationships with its suppliers, GDF SUEZ can guarantee the long-term security of the gas supplies of its customers in Europe and in the rest of the world.
In order to guarantee the security of its customers’ gas supplies, GDF SUEZ:
- Has the most diversified supply portfolio in Europe,
- Tends to sign long-term contracts which cover most of the Group’s requirements and performs short and medium term transactions to meet the shortfall,
- Optimises its supply portfolio through short-term purchases and by making use of the flexibility built into its contracts and its storage facilities,
- Handles the logistics and conveys the gas from the reception point to the delivery point, negotiates and signs new contracts with transportation and storage operators.
With its partnerships spanning several decades, GDF SUEZ intends to remain a major buyer of natural gas from leading suppliers and to strengthen its long-term relationships through such means as renewable, high value-added contracts such as those signed with Gazprom in 2006 and Sonatrach in 2007.
