SUEZ and Gaz de France have merged, forming a world leader in the field of energy which is present on all five continents, employs over 200,000 staff and has a turnover of more than 74 billion euros. This video, which was screened at the joint Ordinary and Extraordinary General Meetings of the merged groups on July 16, 2008, presents the positions and strengths of GDF SUEZ.

Energy is a source of progress. The fate of mankind and energy have never been so closely tied. Today, SUEZ and Gaz de France are joining forces to form a world leader in the field of energy.
A new group has seen the day. A group whose vocation will be to serve its customers, develop its employees and create value for its shareholders.
Tomorrow, more than 200,000 employees around the world will be working hard to meet the world’s ever growing demand for energy, secure their clients’ energy supply and fight against global warming. The combination of the positions of SUEZ and Gaz de France will make the new Group Europe’s leading buyer and seller of gas as well as the operator of the largest transmission and distribution network; it will be France’s 2nd largest electricity producer and the 5th largest in Europe, besides being Europe’s leading player in liquefied natural gas and energy services, with a turnover of 74 billion euros.
